Part 2 CHASSIS / BODY OVERVIEW

The SportStar will compete against production based machinery like the Dodge Viper, Saleen S-7 and Chevrolet Corvette, all icons of American Sports Car history. Its prototype heritage will confer a host of advantages compared to the current best in class including an engine placed amidship instead of in front, a composite aluminum honeycomb chassis in contrast to steel unibody and a full ground effects body. Progress includes making a full set of patterns, mockup buck, jigs, front and rear CNC bulkheads, aluminum honeycomb body panels, and chrome molly steel cockpit surround. BODY STATUS A full scale body buck has been completed and body tooling as well as tooling to make the first body. The first body has also been completed.
